Visit by HRH Prince Charles to Falkland Centre for Stewardship, Wednesday 30 May 2007
On 30 May we were visited by the Great Steward of Scotland, otherwise known
as Prince Charles. Prince Charles came to Falkland to find out more about
the stewardship work we have been doing over the last few years. We invited
as many of our friends and partners to meet the Prince as we could squeeze
into an hour! The Prince visited the Stables Workshop, home of the Centre
for Stewardship then fittingly walked down the 'Palace Walk', briefly
pausing to look some of the work undertaken by our many volunteers at the
wildflower meadow in Balmblae. He then went on to the Orchard and Bowling
Green Field where a mini 'Big Tent' was waiting for him. He then exited
through the Palace stopping to look in the Palace Chapel and Long Tapestry
Gallery.
Despite the weather, we felt that we told the ‘Falkland Story’ to Prince Charles in words and action against the beautiful and inspirational backdrop of Falkland and the Estate.
